The Winter Palace was constructed in accordance with a project of architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli.

The Winter Palace is huge construction in architectural style of the baroque Russian. This style is characterized by the diversity of facades: simultaneidad of the salient and sunk parts, ample use of cuvilinear forms, profusion of decorative adornments, use of two colors.
